Carmi Police Reports 10/23-10/25

Friday morning, Carmi Police made a pair of arrests at 1005 Sycamore Street.  21 year old Josette St. John and 58 year old Louis D. Ziegler Jr. were taken into custody just before 10am.  St. John was arrested on a warrant and is being held in the White County Jail on a $500 bond.  Ziegler has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of hypodermic syringes and needles, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He is being held at the Jail without bond pending a court hearing.

Friday afternoon, officers arrested 51 year old Debra Stallings of McLeansboro after a traffic stop on Cherry Street.  Just before 2pm, Stallings was pulled over and has been charged with driving under the influence of drugs. She was processed at the White County Jail and released after posting a $100 bond.

At 10:49pm, Carmi officers responded to a report that a man was passed out in the yard of 207 Church Street.  When officers arrived, they identified him as 31 year old William D Reynolds of Carmi.  As Reynolds awoke, he began to resist and attack officers, resulting in the use of a Taser on Reynolds. He was taken to the White County Jail and has been charged with aggravated assault, resisting a police officer, and disorderly conduct.  Reynolds later was released on a $150 bond.

44 year old Amy Long was arrested by Carmi officers at her residence at 215 Stevan Street following a domestic disturbance.  At 4:13pm, White County Dispatch received a hang up 911 call and heard a subject crying on call back.  When officers arrived, Long’s mother reported that she had called police but that Long had taken the phone away from her.  It was reported that things had been tense over the past days because of the Chicago Cubs loss in the post season. Long was charged with aggravated domestic battery and taken to the White County Jail, where she is being held pending a hearing in court.

Just after 5:30pm Sunday, Carmi police arrested 18 year old James L Parker on a warrant for bicycle theft.  The Carmi resident was taken into custody on 5th Street and is being held in lieu of a $150 bond.
