The Carmi-White County Wrestling team picked up their first win of the season, defeating Mt. Carmel last night by a final score of 42-39.
Cole Evans pinned his opponent in the 157 weight class in 1:55.
Landon Kueber pinned his opponent in the 175 weight class in 2:55.
James Hutchcraft received a forfeit in the 190 weight class.
Gage Anderson pinned his opponent in the 106 weight class in 5:06.
Malachi Oberlender received a forfeit in the 113 weight class.
Travor Mason pinned his opponent in the 120 weight class in just 42 seconds.
Conner Benham finished off the night with a win in the 126 weight class.
The Bulldogs also won two exhibition matches, courtesy of 8th graders Dylan Combs and Caleb King.
The Bulldogs improve to 1-2 on the year, they will take part in the Lawrenceville Tournament this Saturday.
The Carmi-White County Girls Basketball team will take on Eldorado tonight for a home conference game at McDougal-Evers Gymnasium. The Lady Bulldogs are coming off a 42-40 win over Hamilton County on Tuesday, they look to improve their record to 5-2 and 2-0 in the BDC.
Fans can watch and listen to tonight’s game on 97.3 FM WRUL and the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel. Varsity will begin around 7:30 PM.
The Carmi-White County Boys Basketball team will take on Herrin tomorrow night in the DuQuoin Tip-Off Classic. Both the Bulldogs and the Tigers are 1-1 in tournament play.
The winner will play for 3rd Place, the loser will play for 5th place on Saturday.
