FMH Clinical Practice Coordinator Selected for ICAHN Rural Health Fellowship

Fairfield Memorial Hospital Nurse and Wayne County local Jessica Sterling, BSN, RN, has been selected through a competitive application process for the prestigious ICAHN Rural Health Fellowship. ICAHN’s Rural Health Fellowship is a six-month rural health leadership development program for new and emerging C-suite and C-suite track individuals from Illinois’ critical access and rural hospitals or other rural health organizations.

The ICAHN Rural Health Fellowship is designed to empower emerging leaders in rural healthcare through hands-on experience, mentorship, and specialized training. Fellows will gain invaluable insights into rural health challenges, learn innovative solutions, and develop the skills necessary to improve healthcare delivery in rural communities. ICAHN developed the Rural Health Fellowship to not just be another leadership program, but to be an opportunity for individuals to grow in areas that matter most for the future of rural health.

“We are pleased to recognize Jessica for her exceptional contributions to our team. Jessica has worked with the hospital in nursing supervision for three years and currently serves as the Clinical Practice Coordinator in Nursing Administration. Jessica consistently demonstrates great initiative and drive, readily stepping in to assist with any task. When she does not have all the answers, she is determined to seek out solutions showcasing her strong leadership qualities. It is these characteristics that truly set her apart and contributed to her securing a well-deserved spot in the ICAHN Rural Health Fellowship.” Stated Rachel Ewing, MSN, RN, Chief Nursing Officer at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.

FMH is proud of Jessica for this incredible opportunity to learn and enhance health outcomes for the future.
