White County Sheriff Deputies started their day in the early morning hours on Thursday.
While patrolling, an officer noticed a vehicle going at a high rate of speed on Stewart Street. The suspect fled from the deputy, failing to stop, and eventually went airborne around Fackney and Seventh Street before losing control and hitting a telephone pole.
The passenger, Demerius Montgomery, exited the vehicle and was detained.
Daniel Carlisle, the driver, fled the scene but was found a short time later.
Once at the White County Jail, a search was made on Carlisle, where officers found a meth pipe on him. Multiple items of narcotics and paraphernalia were found inside the vehicle as well.
Carlisle was taken to the Hamilton Memorial Hospital, where a warrant will be issued.
