Back on Friday the Carmi-White County Bulldog Football team traveled to Johnston City, and fell by a final score of 28-6. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 6-0 lead on an 8-yard touchdown pass from Madden Anderson to Kade Stockton. The Bulldogs had their opportunities to find the endzone, but ultimately were out scored 28-0 in the final 3 quarters. Johnston City claims the Black Diamond Conference Championship for the 4th time in 5 years with the win.
The Bulldogs finish the regular season with a 7-2 record, and they will travel to Warrensburg-Latham for the 1st Round of the IHSA Playoffs. The Cardinals are members of the Heart of Central Illinois Conference where they finished the regular season with a 7-2 record. Warrensburg-Latham High School is located just northwest of Decatur, approximately a 3 hour drive from Carmi. If the Bulldogs win on Saturday, they will host either Johnston City or Red Bud at home for the 2nd Round of the Playoffs. Saturday’s game will be streamed on 97.3 FM WRUL and the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel.
The Carmi-White County Lady Bulldog Volleyball team will begin their postseason journey tomorrow night in the IHSA Regional Semifinal at Carmi. The Lady Bulldogs will play the winner of tonight’s play-in game between Lawrenceville and Flora. Fans will be able to watch tomorrow’s match on the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel. If the Lady Bulldogs win tomorrow they will face either Mt. Carmel or Hamilton County in the Regional Championship Game on Thursday.
Back on Saturday the Carmi-White County Cross Country team ran at the Massac County Regional. Andrew Benham finished in 4th Place overall, and Luke Bolerjack finished in 14th, both qualifying for the Benton Sectional next weekend. Congratulations Andrew Benham and Luke Bolerjack.
