Online records don’t yet indicate when a Carmi man is due in court following his arrest by Illinois State Police Saturday night. It was just before 10:30 when a trooper conducted the traffic stop due to a vehicle code violation according to the report. 44-year-old Clinton Wolff of Carmi was pulled over on Robinson at Jessup; subsequently placed under arrest and is being charged with Driving under the Influence of Alcohol. He was booked and released in about 6 minutes. Wolff is a Guidance Counselor with Carmi White County Unit 5 Schools and expected by many to be the heir apparent to the Athletic Director position.

Mr Wolf broke the law, and should have his picture up with the tweakers and trespassers. He could have killed one of those kids we trust him to teach, or himself. Let’s not send the message to our youth that DUIs are cool or okay.

These people are either elected or appointed so yes the public has the right to know especially if they are employed by the school district.

September 18, 2024 at 9:29 pmClinton has done more for kids in Carmi than anyone commenting here. I have worked with him in the guidance office in the past and he was totally helpful and had the best interest of the kids in mind. He will learn from this.
