Carmi Chamber to Welcome New Officer and Five New Board Members

The key to success for a Chamber of Commerce is a steady diet of both stability and fresh perspective.  That’s why Chambers are designed with 4 year terms for board members and a 5 year stint for officers.  It allows leaders enough time to get their feet wet with where the organization is, ramp up their own ideas, carry them to fruition, and also serve an advisory role for newbies as they reach the end of their tenure.

As the Carmi Chamber prepares for it’s annual dinner presented by Nancy J Winter, CPA on October 7th, it also says farewell for now to another past president in Lacey Harms as well as board members Justin Dartt, Landon Bayley, and Jc Tinsley.  With that and due to Megan Newman moving from board member to Executive Director, the Chamber will add an additional board member officially welcoming Emma Bachman, Mitch Gross, Larissa Hays, Abby Vaughan, and Ashley Thompson.  The new officer joining the Chamber in a leadership role and in line to be President in a few years will be Jordan Funeral Group proprietor Jeremy Jordan.

At the annual gathering, the chamber body will be reviewing a handful of by-laws updates, saying thank you to current President Abby Weiss, welcoming new President Katelyne Wolff, and awarding Business, Citizen, and Young Professional of the Year awards.  Carmi Mayor Jeff Pollard is also expected to give an annual State of the City address.  Learn more about the event by calling 618-382-7606 or by visiting https://cityofcarmi.org/chamber-events/annual-dinner/.

Why not welcome getting rid of the corrupt mayor and his thieving wife and stepdaughter first.
