The Enfield Village Board met for its regular monthly session for about an hour Tuesday night. Scott Mareing was there and has this report…
The board approved the Tentative Budget Agreement..and passage of the final budget will probably happen at next month’s meeting.
Work on the street lighting is going well. Seven pole bases have been poured and the old poles and street lights are gone.. They will set up the new poles and wire next week.
The payments to Followell Construction and Brown & Roberts for the water project were approved. Followell will receive $73,161.85, which included a $9,200 Change Order. Brown & Roberts will be paid $7,196.21..
They are still working on the Tran property.
There were two bids for the Ford Ranger Pickup. The board accepted the lowest bid of $502 from Mark Lewis.
Apparently, the Police car‘s transmission was low on oil, but it has now been fixed.
There has been a problem with the drains that run from Main Street to North Street. They will need to replace the entire ten-inch line.
In the Police report, Part-time Deputy Justin Titzer resigned effective August 22, saying that he needed to spend more time with his family. For the month of August, there were 21 calls received, one DUI and one drug arrest, three other arrests, and two vehicles stolen with two being recovered.
In the Animal Control report, there two dogs and one cat rescued, seven dogs impounded, and there was the spaying and neutering of some cats.
In the Utilities report, an altitude valve, which regulates the water in the tank, needs to be replaced. They will advertise for bids.
The Hazard Mitigation Plan will be sent to the state. After they approve it, it will go to the federal government, and once they sign off on it, it goes back the village. They can then pass a resolution to apply for grant money.
It was agreed that all board meetings will begin at 7 PM.
The board went into Executive Session at 8:07 PM to discuss the small business grant, with no action to be taken.
