White County Treasurer Mike Baxley says you should watch your mailbox. 2023 payable 2024 property tax bills are heading out through the mail and should be landing where you get your mail in the next week. Installment dates will be October 15th and November 15th. If you happen to lose your bill or just need to print an extra copy, you can now do that through https://www.whitecounty-il.gov. The office accepts check, money order, cashiers check, debit and credit cards as well as E-check though fees may apply and cash is also welcome.
Also new, and in an effort he says to help ensure the highest degree of transparency, Baxley has included a number of reports on the county’s website. Among those are audit reports, financial, and budget reports. You can find all those online at https://www.whitecounty-il.gov/treasurer.
The White County Treasurer’s office is no longer in the courthouse. It’s moved to 323 East Main Street in the former Carmi Times building.
If you have questions, contact Baxley’s office at 618-382-8122.
