Vehicle Barrels into Burrell Street Home Monday Night

It was just after 6pm Monday night when a vehicle plowed into a house on the corner of Burrell and Stewart.  The driver, a 17-year-old of Carmi was cited for failure to reduce speed causing an accident.  Two residents were at home when the accident happened.  Luckily, no one was injured in the crash.  Police say power was turned off at the home and the vehicle which became stuck, would eventually be towed.  Officers took witness statements and the police chief says the crash investigation is still being worked on.  No cause of the accident has been determined as of yet.
