Bailey Behind Bars Following Arrest Early Friday Morning

A Carmi man is back behind bars on new charges following his arrest early Friday morning.  It was about 12:15am when Carmi Police pulled over a vehicle a Burrell and Gilpin.  Law enforcement would subsequently place 23-year-old Christopher Bailey under arrest on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Use of Property.  Bailey was arrested back in June for allegedly Driving on a Revoked License and Failing to Notify after Damaging an Unattended Vehicle.  He was in court for a first appearance on those charges mid July and is due for arraignment on August 14th.  His new charges are all felony counts and he’s being held at the White County Jail.  The driver of the vehicle in Friday morning’s traffic stop was 22-year-old Cory Bailey of Carlyle.  He was cited for Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and given a verbal warning after cops say he was driving without his headlights on.  The younger Bailey was also arrested back in June and charged with Fleeing/Attempting to Elude a Peace Officer.  He’s due in White County Court on August 27th for a first appearance on that charge.
