A White County Sheriff Officer and Norris City Police Chief, Dustin Dale, were notified of an active reckless driver incident on Highway 45 in a black Chevy Camaro.
The caller who notified police of the driver stated that the vehicle was dangerously weaving in and out of cars in a funeral procession, recklessly passing cars in no-passing zones, cutting off vehicles, and even throwing items out of its moving vehicle. In a shocking display of disregard for safety, a female was seen standing outside the Camaro’s sunroof, hurling beer bottles at the cars in the funeral procession.
The caller also said that the driver of the Camaro exited their vehicle and displayed a firearm to the other cars when the procession turned onto Highway 141.
An officer promptly responded, meeting with the Camaro on the highway going 90-100 MPH, with the officer activating his lights and initiating a pursuit. The Camaro initially slowed down to 70 and then to 45, seemingly indicating a willingness to comply. However, it soon started motioning for the officer to drive around the vehicle, a clear attempt to evade capture. The officer, maintaining his vigilance, stayed behind, informing dispatch of the Camaro’s actions. Despite the Camaro’s attempt to mislead, the officer remained focused, ensuring the safety of the community.
The Camaro eventually pulled over, and the officer called in for additional units. The driver was identified as 32-year-old Brett Wade.
Once the driver exited the vehicle and was handcuffed, he asked the officer why he was being arrested. The officer explained to the driver that he was being arrested for Fleeing and Eluding since the officer had driven with lights and sirens for two miles and the driver had never pulled over.
During the arrest, officers noticed two small infants in the vehicle’s backseat, one of whom appeared to be a newborn.
A firearm was never recovered. Wade faces charges of Fleeing and Eluding, Endangering the Life or Safety of a Child, Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle, Speeding, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.

Reasonable opinion
June 21, 2024 at 1:01 pmI like how the firearm was never recovered and the witness said they was one visible, but then again where is it? So to say the woman was throwing stuff out the window could also be another false statement. Another the women wasn’t taken in to custody so again to no solid evidence. The man (Wade) was right to get those charges, plus more in my opinion, but we all know probably didn’t learn his lesson from this. The women shouldn’t be questioned in all this I simply see three passengers, and an endangerment to the community.
