A complaint was signed on Saturday against 37-year-old Dustin Coston for Domestic Battery.
According to the affidavit, Sheena Coston contacted the White County Sheriff’s Department stating that Dustin had strangled her and threatened to slit her throat.
Officers responded to the residence and took a statement from Sheena, who provided details of the incident and explained why Dustin had ripped the floor out and the house was a mess, all due to Dustin. Officers then approached Dustin and asked about his account, where he said he had been working on the floor and Sheena wanted to go to dinner with her daughter, but Dustin needed help.
Dustin was taken to the White County Jail, where he stayed until he saw a judge. A Domestic call had been made back on May 28th at the same address, and officers gave Dustin numerous resources of help during that response. A responding officer requested a mental evaluation for Dustin Coston.
A Domestic call came into dispatch from the Stewart Street Apartments on Sunday.
According to the affidavit, the caller stated that a man and woman were arguing and fighting but had left the area in a silver Jeep. During the call, and an officer located the vehicle at the White County State’s Attorney/Probation parking lot.
The officer heard a female voice scream, and then a male threw the female out of the car and onto the pavement. The officer advised the male to get out of the vehicle, and the male was quickly detained.
21-year-old Ethan Mercer was arrested and taken to the White County Jail on a Domestic Battery charge due to the officer witnessing Mercer shove the female, 22-year-old Alexia Roberts, to the ground.
