What a day it was for the Carmi-White County Junior High track team Tuesday as they traveled to Harrisburg for the SIJHSAA regional track meet.
The Junior High Boys track team brought home the regional championship with a team score of 131. 13 Bullpups and 6 Lady Bullpups will be heading to the SIJHSAA State Track Meet next weekend.
Lex Day placed 1st in Pole Vault.
Ian Goemaat placed 2nd in Shot Put.
Colt Smock finished 2nd in the 100 Meter Hurdles.
The 7th Grade 4×2 Relay Team of Caleb King, Kipton Large, Broden Bradsahw and Kayson Garrett finished in 1st Place.
The 8th Grade 4×1 Relay Team of Nolan Garner, Branson Burnett, Colt Smock and Cooper Hill finished in 1st Place with a new school record of 48.02 seconds.
Nolan Garner finished 3rd in the 400 Meter Race.
The 8th Grade 800 Meter Relay Team of Dakota Brown, Preston Flowers, Colt Smock and Cooper Hill finished in 1st Place with a new school record time of 1:40.57.
Kayson Garrett finished in 2nd Place in the 7th Grade 100 Meter Race.
Cooper Hill finished in 1st Place in both the 8th Grade 100 and 200 Meter Races.
The 1600 Meter Relay Team of Isaac Northcott, Dakota Brown, Preston Flowers, and Nolan Garner finished in 1st Place.
Norah Taylor qualified for state after finishing in 2nd Place in High Jump.
The 4×1 Relay Team of Aubrey Kessler, Lyla Wolff, Annie Winkleman, and Gabby Short qualified for state after finishing in 2nd Place.
The 4×2 Relay Team of Kessler, Wolff, Winkleman, and Jadelyn Allison qualified for state after finishing in 2nd Place.
The SIJHSAA State Track Meet will be held Saturday, May 11 at Carterville High School.
