Roy A. Rector was wanted out of Saline County for Robbery and DOC for Violation of Parole. Rector was believed to be at a residence at Sandy Run Lake, outside of Norris City, when the White County Sheriff’s Department and Norris City Police Department, assisted the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in apprehending Rector.
Upon arrival, Sheriff Weiss, Deputy Malone, and members of the Fugitive Task Force set up a perimeter around the residence. Norris City Police Chief Dustin Dale identified a male, matching the description of Rector, sitting in a chair by the lake. U.S. Marshals placed Rector in handcuffs without incident, and Rector was taken to the White County Jail.
Sheriff Weiss would like to thank the U.S. Marshals Service and the Norris City Police Department for their diligent efforts. Having great and long lasting interagency relationships makes incidents such as these go smoothly and safely.
