Two Individuals Arrested for a Collection of Citations

On January 25th, a  responding officer observed a 2007 black Chevrolet Silverado stopped in the middle of the road on Foley Drive. The officer did a check of the vehicles registration and it came back for a 2014 black Toyota Tundra. As the Silverado left the scene, the officer followed it and proceeded to pull it over on Stewart Street.

Mark Davis and Britney Barton were identified as the occupants of the vehicle. The officer noticed the smell of raw cannabis and asked the driver, Davis, if he had any on him. Davis answered yes and gave the officer a baggie. The officer stated he would have to search the vehicle now, and Davis informed the officer of a shotgun un-cased in the front seat.

During the search, the officer found a glass smoking device with a crystal like substance inside, a purse that belonged to Barton also contained the crystal substance, and the un-cased camo shotgun was found in the vehicle. Both of the items containing the crystal substance came back positive for Methamphetamine.

Both Davis and Barton were arrested and sent to the White County Jail. Barton’s citations include: possession of adult use cannabis in a motor vehicle, unlawful use of property, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of a controlled substance. Davis’ citations include: unlawful display of registration, possession of adult use cannabis in a motor vehicle, unlawful use of property, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of controlled substance.
