A Carmi man is behind bars following his arrest Wednesday evening by Police. Authorities say they picked up 21 year old Loren Phillips of Foley Drive on Sycamore Street just before 7:30pm. He was placed in cuffs on multiple warrants. The White County warrant dates back to an August 2021 arrest for Battery. A Hamilton County warrant is related to a June of 2021 arrest and conviction of Aggravated Assault. Phillips was given a 6 month stayed jail sentence and two years of conditional discharge on the original White County charge and two years of conditional discharge for the Hamilton County conviction. He was also ordered into mandatory anger management classes and fined in September of that year on both convictions.
