A Carmi man has a court date later this month after White County Sheriff’s authorities caught him driving on a suspended registration in the early morning hours of December 30th. It was 1am Saturday when a deputy observed a 98 Ford pickup on Burrell Street with a registration the officer says he knew to be suspended. After checking with dispatch and confirming the violation, the officer pulled over Joshua Egbert of Shumaker Street and informed him his registration was coming back suspended. Egbert then allegedly told the deputy the plates shouldn’t be suspended as he had just paid insurance. Egbert was subsequently given a ticket and the truck was towed to Egbert’s residence.

January 5, 2024 at 9:29 pmFirst off, I did get ticketed, but there was no reason for it because everything was good like I told the police officer and whoever at the Secretary of State office that is looking into peoples insurance to see whether they’ve been lapsed anytime during the year needs to do their job a little bit better because in my case my s*** was good. I was under an Indiana policy at the time and they failed to see that. Therefore I had to pay $200 to get my truck out of tow for something that wasn’t my fault. Something that was the secretary of states fault, or whoever is looking into stuff, so if anyone has any questions about this matter, feel free to message me or call me , but it’s a bunch of BS and to the news report reporting this my truck was not towed to my house either. That’s why I had to pay $200 to get it out.
