Principal Bids Adieu to Kids for Holiday Break Posing as Elf on a Shelf

Forget Buddy, Snowflake, Jingle, or Elfie…Jefferson Attendance Center in Carmi students were treated to a real life Elf on a Shelf on the last day of school before Christmas break Tuesday.  Principal Lacey Moore donned her gayest apparel while surprising and delighting students and staff.  Moore pulled the same “stunt” in 2022 as students arrived at school that morning.  For 2023, she waited until end of school dismissal to perch herself on top of the building giving kids, young and old, a blissful send off for the holiday break.  Long time educator Barb McArthy says Moore is “a fun and energetic principal who goes out of her way to make school fun for kids so they want to come to school everyday.”
