Following the covid pandemic that literally shut down most of America, health officials urge Americans, including local residents to stay ahead of the virus by getting covid shots and boosters.
With that in mind, a number of clinics/health fairs have been scheduled throughout the area to help residents get those vaccines.
The first available covid shot clinic will be held from 10 until 1 Monday, December 18 and then again, same hours, on December 29 at the White County Senior Citizen’s Center, here in Carmi. Flu vaccinations will also be available at the Center.
Covid and flu vaccinations will be available at the Carmi Center again on January 5th and February 2nd of the new year. The hours will be the same; 10 until 1 with bingo scheduled for 10 to 11 those mornings. The Carmi events are in partnership with Ferrell Hospital and Clinic.
The Hamilton County Senior Citizen’s Center will host the clinics on January 10th from 10 until noon and then again on January 19 and February 16. The January 10th clinic is a partnership with Beck’s Pharmacy.
The other two vaccine days are in partnership with Ferrell Hospital and Clinic. There will be bingo on January 10th and February 16th from 10 until 11 those mornings.
By the way, the latest covid vaccine is supposed to work against the new and stronger variants of the virus.
