Road Ranger Robber Sentenced

Kimberly Clerk was sentenced for Aggravated Battery, a Class X Felony, which has a possible sentencing range of six to 30 years.  Based on the offense, Clerk will have to serve a minimum 85% of the 23 year sentence, which means that she will be spending the next two decades in custody.  She will also have a year and a half of Mandatory Supervised Release.  Other counts were dismissed pursuant to a plea agreement, which the victim was in agreement with, to conclude the case by pleading guilty.  Clerk admitted she was attempting to commit an armed robbery of the Road Ranger in Grayville on June 4th of this year.  She also admitted to discharging a firearm that resulted in an injury to the victim, an employee of Road Ranger.

Clerk was represented by Public Defender Myra Yelle-Clark.  Judge T. Scott Webb was the Presiding Judge that imposed the sentence.  State’s Attorney Denton W. Aud was the prosecuting attorney on the case.  Illinois State Police investigated the case with assistance from the White County Sheriff’s Department and Grayville Police Department.
