Back on Friday the Carmi-White County Bulldog football team fell to Johnston City by a final score of 36-6.
The Bulldogs marched down the field on their opening drive and took a 6-0 lead when quarterback Landon Driscoll found Noah Pollard for a 9-yard touchdown. That would be the only time the Bulldogs found the endzone. Johnston City was able to score 3 times in the 1st half, and that would be more than enough to get their 8th win of the year.
The Bulldogs finish the regular season 7-2. Carmi was granted the 6 seed in the southern IHSA 2A playoff bracket, the Bulldogs will host Breese Mater Dei at Harrington-Jeffries Sports Complex on Saturday at 1 PM. It will be a rematch of the 2021 playoffs when Mater Dei defeated Carmi-White County 54-16.

The Carmi-White County Lady Bulldog Volleyball team took part in the Fairfield Classic on Saturday and Carmi went 4-1 on the day, finishing in 3rd place. Caroline Simmons and Mara Serafini were named to the All-Tournament team.
The Lady Bulldogs end the regular season with a 28-7 record, which breaks the school record for the most wins in a single season. They will begin regionals tomorrow evening when they play the winner of tonight’s matchup between Lawrenceville and Toledo Cumberland in Lawrenceville.
