Wine lovers are reminded it’s time for the annual Wine and Art Festival at Rend Lake.
The annual event will be held this Saturday and Sunday, (Sept. 30 and Oct. 1) and will feature 11 different Southern Illinois Wineries that will offer their “vino” for tasting throughout the festival.
There will be live music both days, plus food and shopping; lots of shopping along with the wine tasting. Event organizers say there is a $10 admission per person and that will require cash. The admission includes a complimentary wine glass and tasting armband to those 21 years old and older. Identification will be checked as one enters the festival.
Pets are welcome, but must be on a lease. Pet owners are asked to be respectable of others and please pick up after your pet.
Organizers say while admission must be paid in cash, many of the vendors will accept credit cards, but others will be asking for cash only.
The music includes Dennis Stroughmatt and the Honky Tonk Circus from 11 until about 2:30 Saturday afternoon. We Got it Covered will cover the music from 2:30 until about 6 Saturday evening.
Sunday’s musical line up includes the Tim Whiteford Band and The Jewels.
Saturday hours are 11 to 6, while entry gates open at noon on Sunday. The event is set to wrap up around 5 Sunday afternoon.
