Recovery Picnic and Walk
It’s no secret, one of the biggest problems Southern Illinois and the nation, for that matter, is drug and alcohol addiction.
It’s a problem that has confronted families and people from all walks of life, from the rich to the poor.
But fortunately there are ways an addict can receive help. That help runs the gamut of a number of agencies including the Egyptian Health Department. Success of these programs is measured by recovery.
With that in mind, The Egyptian Health Department has planned a special event for the families and loved ones of those who are in recovery.
A Recovery Picnic and Walk is set for 4pm Tuesday, Sept. 26 at Carmi’s Burrells Woods Park.
Organizers of the Recovery event are hoping for a good turn-out explaining the evening will include a “walk in unison” along with free food and stories of recovery, hope and more.
