It was a busy meeting for the Grayville City Council Monday night, however business was conducted in about thirty minutes including a short executive session.
The council went into the closed door meeting to discuss property but returned to pass a motion to contact a real estate agent to list the property located at 201 West Commerce Street.
In old business, the board took no action on the Utopian Solar project, agreed to a $2100 demolition cost reimbursement for Lynn Winters at 820 North Third Street. An ordinance amending the traffic code for reduced speed and children playing was approved. The Snyder property lease agreement was signed and a transfer of TIP property tax reimbursement agreement for Cox Industrial was approved for Michael and Moriah Pipher. The board also accepted a bid of $5100 from DK’s Done Right Construction for renovation of the swimming pool chemical building.
In new business, a request to block off two blocks of East North Street and a half block of both North and South Middle Streets was approved for the annual car show to be held Saturday, Oct. 7. The streets will be blocked that morning beginning around 6. The Friends of Grayville sponsor the car show each year.
A TIF request was approved for Jay and Sharon Walden to replace the roof at 202 East North Street. The total cost of the project is $37,500 and 50% of the cost or $18,750 was approved.
The Grayville council adjourned around 7:30 Monday evening.
