Interstate 64 Ramps to Close at Grayville

Grayville I-64 Ramps to Close

Local motorists who regularly use the Interstate 64 ramps at Grayville are going to need to find an alternate route beginning Monday, Sept. 11.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced weather permitting the westbound I-64 exit and entrance ramps at Grayville (exit 130) will be closed for pavement patching.

Once work is completed on the westbound ramps, they will be opened to traffic and the eastbound I-64 exit and entrance ramp will be closed. Ramp closures are expected to last about five days….again, weather permitting.

Additional work is set to begin today (Wednesday, Sept 6), weather permitting.

The contractor will be patching the pavement on Illinois One at the I-64 interchange, with traffic to be controlled by a flagger.

Motorists are reminded to reduce speed, be alert for workers and equipment. Drivers should use extreme caution when traveling through the area.

To avoid delays, motorists should seek an alternative route. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the work zone as quick as possible.
