The board members approved a 2024 Budget Proposal put together by Botsch and Associates CPA’s with the final budget to be approved later.
A permit for the Dairy Days Parade to be held on Saturday, September 23rd was approved, as were road closings. They also approved a donation to the Parade in the same amount as in the last two years and to have the village pay for a generator.
Mayor Skip Land said the village received a lot of compliments for the cleanup work done after the recent storm damage.
The board agreed to a closure of the alley on Boyd Street, which spans 140 feet, between the Questell and Doerner residences.
The village will work with John Schofield on the squaring up of his property and try to come to an agreement on a fair price. They will also borrow or buy his concrete blocks to partition off the Dairy Days stage.
They will look into putting up speed bumps at the Hulette and Beatty ball fields at all three main entrances into the complex at Boyd, Forrest and Carroll Streets.
There is one person interested in becoming a police officer. They haven’t had any academy training and are still being interviewed.
There will be four interviews on Wednesday for the Street Department vacancy and Mayor Land will give a report at next month’s meeting.
Repairs are being made at the Water Plant as there has been a leak in which water has been seeping into the basement. The village is looking into possible federal funding.
Mayor Land said he learned that the village will receive $1.235 million in funding for Phase IV of the Water Project.
The board went into an Executive Session to discussion litigation at 7:50 PM.
