A pair of White County Jail inmates have been served additional arrest warrants according to White County Sheriff Jordan Weiss. Documents reveal deputies served the warrants to 44-year-old Harland Hammond of McLeansboro and 28-year-old Shelby Brewster of Carmi Thursday morning during their incarceration. Hammond’s arrest warrant was out of Jefferson County related to a Criminal Felony conviction for possession of methamphetamine (5 to 15 grams). He had been sentenced to 24 months of conditional discharge in May before he was arrested in late June on new possession of meth (100 – 400 grams) charges. Hammond had a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, July 19th and is currently scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on August 16th.
Brewster meanwhile was served an arrest warrant out of White County for Theft under $500. Bond on the charge is $250 cash. Local online court records don’t indicate any additional details on other pending charges.
