Norris City Police Chief Dustin Dale reports the arrest of three individuals.
On June 17th, Officer Kody Jones observed a vehicle driving without headlights. He initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who identified himself as 48 year old Clay Mattingly of Eldorado. When Jones asked for Mattingly’s drivers license he informed the Officer that his license are revoked. While running Mattingly’s information through dispatch Jones was advised that he was wanted on a warrant in Hamilton County for Driving While License Revoked.
Mattingly was placed under arrest and Don’s Bumper to Bumper was called to tow the vehicle from the scene. While taking inventory of the vehicle prior to towing, Jones found a small baggy that tested positive for marijuana.
Mattinlgy was booked in the White County Jail where he is being charged with Diving On A Revoked License and Possession of Cannabis by Driver. He paid $250 bond and was released.
He is scheduled to appear in White County Court on July 25 at 9:00 a.m.
33 year old Joseph Abell was arrested during a traffic stop on June 23rd after Officer Kody Jones received word that he was driving on a suspended license. Jones conducted a traffic stop on 600 N and Hwy 1 and made contact with Abell and explained the reason for the stop was due to his license being suspended. Jones then asked him to step out of the vehicle. Abell told the officer that there was fentanyl and marijuana between the seats in his truck. Abell was placed under arrest and assistance was requested. Deputy Brown with the White County Sheriff’s Department arrived to assist in the stop. An inventory was taken of the vehicle and a clear baggy that was found tested positive for marijuana. No fenatnyl was found during the search.
S & E Auto was called to tow the truck from the scene. Abell was transported to the White County Jail where he was charged with Driving While License Suspended and Possession of Cannabis By a Driver.
Abell paid $250 bond and was released. He is scheduled to appear in White County Court on July 25th at 9:00 a.m.
And on June 26th, 44 year old Jason Cannon was taken into custody inside of a residence in Norris City. Cannon was known to be wanted on warrants out of White County. Cannon appeared for a First Appearance in White County Court on June 27th.
He is scheduled to appear in front of Judge Webb for arraignment on July 17th at 10:00 a.m.
