A White County woman was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after appearing in White County Court Wednesday morning.
25 year old Tarynn L Browning of Carmi was sentenced to 3 years in the IDOC with 6 months Mandatory Supervised Released for Obstructing Justice, a class 4 felony and 3 years with 6 months MSR for Possession of Methamphetamine, a class 3 felony, with the sentences to run concurrently.
Browning had originally been placed on probation in the Obstructing Justice charge but was then arrested for Possession of Meth. Browning was given an opportunity of Drug Court probation on both cases however probation was revoked after Browning was removed from the Drug Court program.
Judge T Scott Webb imposed the sentences with States Attorney Denton Aud prosecuting the cases. Browning was represented by Public Defender Myra Yelle-Clark. The Carmi Police Department was the arresting agency in both cases.
