Young ladies interested in participating in the 2023 White County Fair pageant stand to win more than crowns. An informational meeting will be held on July 10th at the Floral Hall with practices scheduled for July 24th, 26th, 31st, and August 2nd at 5:30pm. Age groups are Little Miss 6 – 8; Junior Miss 11 – 14, and Miss 16 – 21 with the contestant not turning 22 before January 1st. Last year’s winners, Payton Howard (Miss), Annsley Healy (Junior), and Anna Claire Campbell (Little Miss) will crown new royalty on Monday, August 7th. In addition to the title, winners also receive cash prizes thanks to the community and efforts of pageant director Hannah Sailer. Last year, Howard was awarded $3,000 plus her paid trip to the state pageant in January. 1st and 2nd runners up also got $600 and $400 respectively. Junior Miss Healy picked up $500 and Little Miss Campbell was awarded $400. Contestants are judged based on their interview, evening gown/stage presence, and personality. Miss contestants also give a one minute speech during the pageant on a topic of their choice.
