Brent Edwards and Kenny Hargrave will officially be sworn in at tonight’s Carmi Unit 5 School Board meeting and officers will be elected. Also on the agenda, the board is expected to accept bids on consumable supplies for the upcoming school year. Additionally, the district should save money on fuel for the upcoming year. The school board will presumably accept bids from Wabash Valley on fuel for the upcoming school year. A savings of nearly .96 cents per gallon will be in store on Unleaded and nearly .80 cents per gallon on Biodiesel compared to the current rate, $3.694 per gallon for Unleaded and $4.04 for Biodiesel. The board will also accept resignations and donations, consider their agreement with the School Resource Officer potentially adding another, and review a preliminary budget amendment before entering closed session and considering a host of employment decisions for the upcoming school year.
