Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies have updated the charges they have filed against a Fairfield man who was arrested earlier in the month.
According to a release from Sheriff Chris Otey, 24-year-old Ace A. Haygood of Fairfield now faces charges of aggravated battery and a petition to revoke probation. Wayne County Sheriff’s Officials say that they were called to the emergency room at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in reference to a 19-year-old victim who had been stabbed in the back by what officers believe to be a screwdriver and struck in the head with the same screwdriver. The victim stated after the event, Haygood allegedly left them on the side of the road and attempted to run over them. Haygood was located the next evening during probation detail duties.
