The Carmi-White County Bulldog baseball fell to Mt. Vernon, Indiana at home yesterday afternoon by a final score of 14-13 in extra innings.
The Bulldogs led 9-2 heading into the 4th inning, but the Wildcats plated 6 runs in the 4th, 4 runs in the 5th and another in the 6th to take a 13-9 lead into the home half of the 6th inning.
Carmi was finally able to score once again as 4 runs came across in the bottom of the 6th inning to tie the game at 13-13.
Neither team scored in the 7th, but the Wildcats were able to regain the lead in the top of the 8th, and the Bulldogs couldn’t answer. Falling to 3-5 on the season.
The Bulldogs will be back in action today as they host Flora at Eckerle Park.
The CWC Lady Bulldog softball team will also host Flora today. The Lady Dogs are 6-4 on the season as they are currently riding a 4-game winning streak. Fans can listen to today’s game on 97.3 FM WRUL and online at WRUL.com.
The CWC Boys Tennis team defeated Union County, Kentucky yesterday afternoon by a final score of 6-0. The Bulldogs improve to 6-0 on the year, they will travel to Mt. Carmel today.
The CWC Girls track team traveled to Hamilton County yesterday to begin their season, the Lady Bulldogs finished in 2nd Place.
