On the morning of March 24, 73 year old William Lewis of Enfield spoke with White County Sheriff’s Officer George Spencer on the phone concerning a report of a theft that occurred at County Road 1900 North in Enfield. Lewis said at some point in the past approximately two to three weeks, two 500 gallon fuel tanks and stands were removed from the property without permission. Lewis said he didn’t know the approximate value of the fuel tanks and that there is a large amount of what he believes to be suspicious activity in the area. Lewis made a report about the theft, which was placed on file at the White County Sheriff’s Department. Officer Spencer said deputies would try to conduct extra patrols in the area.
