The Carmi-White County Lady Bulldogs lost their season opener yesterday at home against Mt. Carmel by a final score of 17-14. The Lady Bulldogs trailed 17-5 going into the bottom of the 6th inning. Carmi scored 7 in the 6th to make it a 17-12 game going into the 7th, but the Lady Dogs couldn’t mount another rally, falling 17-14.
Mia Evans went 1-5 at the plate with a solo home run.
Audrey Upton went 2-2 with 2 solo home runs.
Alayna Johnson went 3-5 with a home run.
Kadie Simmons went 1-5 with a 2-run home run.
KC Milligan, Caroline Simmons, Mara Serafini and Addi Elliott all recorded hits in the loss.
The Lady Bulldogs will have the next 4 days off, they will travel to Lawrenceville on Monday.
The Carmi-White County boys tennis team began their season yesterday with a 7-0 win over Henderson County, Kentucky.
Cameron Courty, Gage Atteberry, Conner Colman, Tyler Goemaat all won their singles matches.
Courty & Atteberry also won their doubles match, as did Colman and Braden Smith, and Dacin Rudolph and Ian Mosier.
The boys tennis team was supposed to play at Casey-Westfield today, that has been rescheduled to next Tuesday. Their next match will be Monday at home against Fairfield.
