Local Sports Recap – March 14, 2023

The Carmi-White County Bulldogs baseball team fell to West Frankfort yesterday afternoon by a final score of 9-4. The Bulldogs trailed 3-0 going into the bottom of the 2nd inning. Carmi was able to tie the game up at 3-3 before falling behind 4-3 going into the bottom of the 3rd. The Bulldogs answered with another run in the 3rd to tie it at 4, but the Redbirds scored 2 in the 4th, 2 in the 5th and 1 in the 6th to pull away with a 9-4 victory. The Bulldogs were out-hit in the loss 10-7, and they also committed 6 errors compared to West Frankfort’s 2. 

Caleb Seibers was 2-4 at the plate for the Bulldogs with 2 RBI.
Zack Roark went 1-3 on the day with a run scored.
Trayton Vickers was 1-4 at the plate.
Jaxen Albright, Ladon Driscoll and Ty Hollingsworth all went 1-3.
Travor Mason also picked up an RBI.

The Bulldogs will have the next 4 days off, they will travel to Robinson on Saturday for a double-header between Robinson and Bismark Henning.

The Carmi-White County softball team was set to host Grayville yesterday for their first game of the year, but that game was eventually canceled. The Lady Bulldogs will host Mt. Carmel tomorrow afternoon, that game can be heard on 97.3 FM WRUL and online at WRUL.com

The CWC Boys Tennis match against Henderson County scheduled for yesterday will now be played tomorrow afternoon.
