Gallatin County States Attorney Doug Dyhrkopp has announced charges in the murder of a Gallatin County man in February. According to a press release from the state’s attorney, Demetrius Travon Walker of Mt. Vernon, Illinois is charged with two counts of First Degree Murder in the shooting death of Nathan K. Dobbs in Shawneetown on February 15th. Walker was arrested over the weekend in an unrelated matter. A warrant and charge were filed in Gallatin County. He’s being held on five million dollars bail. Walker is due in Gallatin County court Monday, April 3rd at 9am for a preliminary hearing before Judge Foster.
