A Barnhill man is facing charges in Hamilton County court after the Sheriff’s Office arrested him Thursday afternoon. 43 year old Cody Cropper was found trespassing a residence in rural Hoodville, outside of McLeansboro at around 2:11pm Thursday. Deputies arrived to find Cropper standing in the roadway in front of the residence. After speaking with the man, they determined he had in fact trespassed. Cropper was previously given a trespass warning at the same property in December of 2021 according to the report. After placing him in custody, a search revealed Cropper was in possession of multiple items considered contraband including a large bladed weapon and illegal controlled substances. He was subsequently taken to the White County Jail. He’s formally been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Trespass to Real Property, Possession of adult use cannabis in a Motor Vehicle, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon. He’s due in Hamilton County court Monday morning before Judge Tedeschi at 9:30am.
