Tonight is regional championship night across the state of Illinois as many teams from class 1A to 4A will punch their tickets to next week’s sectional tournament.
Let’s take a look at a few of the area regional championship games being played tonight,
In 2A, Lawrenceville will take on Mt. Carmel in the championship of the Lawrenceville regional. The winner will advance to the Newton sectional and face either Greenville or Roxana.
In Teutopolis, the host Wooden Shoes will face Robinson, the winner of that game will face Alton Marquette or Pana in the Newton sectional.
In Benton, Massac County will look to avenge an early season loss as they face Murphysboro. The winner will move on to the Pinckneyville sectional to face either Pinckneyville or Columbia.
Carterville and Vienna will square off in the regional final at Harrisburg, the winner of that one will move on to Pinckneyville to face either Breese Central or Breese Mater Dei.
In 1A, NCOE will battle Gallatin County after the Hawks upset top seeded Crab Orchard on Wednesday. The winner will advance to the Gallatin County sectional to meet either Sesser-Valier or Webber.
Top seeded Wayne City will take on Okawville in the championship of the New Athens regional. Winner of that one will face either Goreville or Meridian in the Gallatin County sectional.
