The Carmi City Council will meet for the first of their two monthly meetings on December at 5:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers at 225 East Main Street. There are several items on the agenda for consideration, discussion and possible approval. Up for approval in the City of Carmi Library Budget for 2023, approval of Chris Marsh to the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners with a term running from January 1st, 2023 until December and permission to seek bids to run a new conductor to the Fairgrounds Substation. Also on the agenda is an ordinance for the levy and assessment of property tax by the City of Carmi for the fiscal year commencing the 1st day of January 2022 and ending the 31st day of December of 2022, an ordinance abating the 2022 tax levy for the payment of the City of Carmi, White County, Illinois general obligation bonds, series 2022A and an ordinance abating the 2022 tax levy for the payment of the City of Carmi, White County, Illinois general obligation bonds, series 2022B.
There will be reports and or updates from Mayor Jeff Pollard, reports from standing committees as well as business or comments from visitors. A closed session will be held to discuss personnel and property issues with possible action to follow.
The Carmi City Council meets on the First and Third Tuesday of each month.
