A Carmi man has been sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections. On Monday, October 24th, 55 year old Michial L Thomas was sentenced to six years in the IDOC for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender, a class 3 felony.
The Illinois State Police investigated the case and arrested Thomas. He was represented by Public Defender Brian Shinkle who called two witnesses. State’s Attorney Denton Aud prosecuted the case. Judge T Scott Webb was the presiding judge that imposed the sentence following arguments from counsel.
