Out of more than 130 initial entries, the top 50 made it onto jars and over two weeks, the organization Pets @ Risk collected cash votes to get a top 12 for the inaugural WRUL/Pets @ Risk Pet Photo Calendar Contest. With the votes tallied, we now have our top 12 White County pets who will grace the 2023 calendar. Making the top 12 include: Amanda Courson’s “Buster”, Amanda Grant’s “Montgomery”, Angela Bruns “Goldie”, Elizabeth Gwaltney’s “Archie”, Jenna Brinkley’s “Mya”, Melissa Brand-Welch’s “Honey”, Olivia Gwaltney’s “Banjo”, Rachel Anderson’s “Chloe & Penny”, Rebeccah Williams’ “Scout & Sasha”, Robin Haught’s “Kramer Lake”, Stacey Hoskins “Bojangles”, and Whitney Williams’ “Sadie, Paisley, & Rusty”. The other 38 animals that made the top 50 will be incorporated in a collage on the front of each calendar. The community’s votes helped the organization raise more than $3,800 which will directly go back to help pets and animals in need throughout the region. Calendars with the top 12 will be available for $10 each in late fall. They can be purchased at the downtown WROY/WRUL Studios at 101 North Church in Carmi and The Dusty Paw in Norris City as well as other locations to be determined. If you have any questions, you’re welcome to call 618 – 382 – 4161. Pets @ Risk and WROY/WRUL would like to thank the community for their support.
