In many communities these days, when a store (no matter how storied or historic) closes down, those services it offered simply fade away. Cody Gottman, a young man with a vision and a work ethic of generations past instead saw it as an opportunity and Carmi is lucky he saw it as an opportunity he couldn’t pass up. The young business owner who will welcome his first child in about another month’s time brought home a baby earlier than he expected Monday night, a first of it’s kind Young Professional Award at Monday night’s Chamber of Commerce annual dinner. New Chamber president Lacey Harms set the scene.
In accepting the award, Gottman says at the end of the day, it’s about doing what you love, loving what you do, and doing both well.
