A 30 year old former Carmi man is in hot water following his arrest in Indiana. He’s been charged with rape, two counts of intimidation with a deadly weapon and two counts of burglary according to a probable cause affidavit reportedly signed by Owensville, IN Marshal Rodger Leister. Police there report they were called to a residence where two individuals claim they were awakened to Kyle Buchanan entering the home, pointing a gun at them and alleging they owed him money. The woman’s boyfriend says he was told at gunpoint to tie the woman up after 
which she was assaulted while threatening the boyfriend with being shot. After the assault, the woman says she was able to get ahold of the weapon while Buchanan was dressing and she says she struck him while her boyfriend grabbed a pair of scissors to fend off the attacker. Buchanan was then chased from the home according to reports.
Buchanan would later call 911 to report he’d been stabbed. Once contact was made with Buchanan, police say he initially denied having sex with the woman. After authorities told him they would be collecting physical evidence from both parties however, the affidavit says Buchanan claimed he’d slept with her in the past.
