The Carmi-White County boys golf team took on Mt. Carmel and NCOE at home on Thursday. The Bulldogs defeated the Fighting Cardinals, but fell to the Golden Aces, 177-185-193. Zack Roark led the way for Carmi with a 43, Gage Attebury shot a 45, Maxon O’Daniel shot a 48, Connor Newell shot a 49, Travor Mason shot a 53 and Gage Winkleman shot a 54. The Fighting Cardinals were led on their end by Cord Tucker who shot a 43.
The CWC Volleyball team defeated Gallatin County last night in 2 sets, winning 25-23 and 25-11. The Lady Bulldogs improve to 2-1 on the year, they will host Flora on Tuesday.
Junior high baseball and softball both took on Benton yesterday, baseball fell by a final of 14-3, and softball fell by a 13-1 final score. Both teams will travel to Olney later today.
Tonight the Carmi-White County football team will play their first home game of the season as they play host to the Vienna-Goreville Eagles. Vienna fell to Sesser-Valier last week at home by a final of 55-12. The Bulldogs have not lost to Vienna since the Eagles joined the BDC in 2009. Overall Carmi leads the rivalry with 13 wins, 7 losses and 3 ties. Tonight will be the first time these two teams have played since week 1 of the 2019 season.
