Last night the Carmi-White County Lady Bulldog volleyball began their season with an impressive win on the road against Mt. Carmel. The Lady Bulldogs swept the Golden Aces in straight sets, winning 25-15 and 25-23. Come on out to McDougal Ever Gymnasium tonight as the Volleyball team will host Edwards County. JV begins at 6:15 with varsity to follow.
The Carmi-White County Girls Tennis team defeated Salem 8-1 on Monday to begin their season.
The junior high baseball team ended their 3-game losing streak with a 5-3 win over Fairfield yesterday afternoon. The Bullpups scored twice in the top of the 7th inning, which would end up being enough for the win. Jace Courson was electric on the mound for the Bullpups, he allowed just 1 hit in 5 and ⅔ innings, striking out 7 and only walking 2. Jaxon Bradshaw struck out 3 in 1 and ⅓ inning of work. The Bullpups are back at home on Thursday as they host Eldorado. First pitch is set for 4:30 PM.
The junior high softball team fell on the road against Fairfield by a final score of 14-2. Grace Sneed had one base hit, and Eva Attebury had 2 base hits and an RBI. They too will host Eldorado at Archie Brown field on Thursday.
And it was announced late last night that this Friday’s Carmi-White County vs Hamilton County football game has been moved to Saturday night due to lack of referees. We will chat with head coach Kurt Simon tomorrow about the schedule change, and how it affects his team’s weekly routine.
