The Carmi City Council will meet for the first of their two monthly meetings on August 2nd at the City Council Chambers at 5:30 PM. On the agenda for council consideration and discussion is the hiring of a new Police Officer at the request of Chief of Police Jason Carter due to a retiring officer, the possible approval to purchase a new Terex Hi- Ranger TL-48 mounted on a new International CV 515 4×4 truck in the amount of $225,00 from Scott Powerline and Utility Equipment using Sourcewell (state bidding company) and a pay request to Brown and Roberts Inc in the amount of $15,114.96 for DCEO Administration of the Hillsdale Area Water Project.
There will be reports and or updates from Mayor Jeff Pollard, reports from standing committees, business or comments from visitors. A closed session will be held to discuss personnel and property issues with no action to follow.
