White County Farm Bureau Held Annual Gathering

The annual meeting of the White County Farm Bureau was held on Friday, January 28, 2022, marking the 101st annual gathering of the organization. 58 members and guests attended the in-person event.

The business meeting included approval of last year’s minutes, financial reports, membership report manager’s report, affiliate reports, updates on Ag in the Classroom and the Young Leader Committee, and the presentation of the organization’s Distinguished Service Award.

Bryce Williams was elected to serve another term as President, Ryan Williams was reelected to another term as Vice President, and Jeff Young was reelected to serve as the organization’s Secretary-Treasurer. All three officers will serve for one year term.

Brandon Barbre of Carmi was reelected to three-year term in District 1; Bryan Tomm of Carmi was reelected to a three-year term in District 2; and Phil Healy of Norris City was reelected to a three-year term in District 3. Randy Graves of Norris City was elected to fill a vacancy in District 3 for one year.

Auctioneer Rick Davis sold several homemade desserts donated by Farm Bureau directors’ wives, raising $480.00 for the Ag in the Classroom program. Ryan Williams recognized the special guests in attendance.

The meeting concluded with the presentation of the organization’s Distinguished Service Award to Martin Barbre. Presenting the award was Martin’s son, Brandon, who gave an emotional testimony on his father’s life-long career of service to agriculture in White County and at the state and national levels.

Members were served an amazing meal from Yesterday’s Catering and awarded door prizes.

The White County Farm Bureau would like to thank all of the members and volunteers who made 2021 a very successful year for our county Farm Bureau organization.
