Carmi Police pulled over and arrested two people at about 9:30 Wednesday night after a traffic stop at Eighth and Stewart Streets.
They’re 33 year old Whitney Scott and the passenger in her vehicle, 53 year old Roy Tipton, both of 210 East Galt Ave. in Shawneetown.
Scott was charged with operating a vehicle with a cancelled registration, unlawful possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle, possession of meth, unlawful use of property, possession of a controlled substance, Alprazolam pills(Xanax), and unlawful use of weapons. Tipton was arrested on a warrant out of Daviess County in Indiana for strangulation, and was also charged with unlawful use of weapons by a felon (possessing a black jack).
Scott is being held without bail in the White County Jail, while Tipton is also being held with his bond set at $2,500. The case has been turned over to the State’s Attorney’s Office.
